Our Commitment

Orchid + Sage Aesthetics and Wellness is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Measures We Have Taken

In designing and building this website, we have taken the following steps to support accessibility:

• Semantic HTML5 elements (header, nav, main, footer, section, article) to communicate page structure clearly to assistive technologies
• ARIA landmarks and labels on all major page sections
• A visible skip-to-content link at the top of every page for keyboard users
• Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements, including the mobile navigation drawer
• Visible focus indicators (a 2px solid ring) on all focusable elements
• Text color contrast ratios meeting or exceeding WCAG 2.2 AA requirements for body copy, navigation, headings, and form elements (primary body text achieves approximately 9.8:1 against the page background). One intentional design exception: the decorative sage call-to-action band on the About and Services pages uses a reduced-contrast tonal treatment; the booking button within it remains fully conformant.
• Touch targets of at least 44x44 pixels for all interactive elements
• Alternative text provided for all meaningful images; decorative images marked with empty alt attributes
• Descriptive link text that makes sense out of context
• Form fields with visible labels, error messages that are announced to screen readers, and descriptive placeholder guidance
• Animations and transitions that respect the user's "prefers reduced motion" system setting
• Self-hosted fonts (no external font CDN requests)
• Responsive design that works across a range of screen sizes and devices

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, some areas may benefit from ongoing improvement:

• Third-party booking system (Jane): our external booking platform is maintained by a third party. We are not able to directly control its accessibility; however, Jane has its own accessibility commitments.
• Google Maps link: we link out to Google Maps for directions but do not embed a map iframe, which reduces accessibility risks associated with embedded map widgets.
